Aguri

Aguri (アグリ, Aguri, full name unknown) is a member of Lança Mortal and Sanjou Isao's eldest child. She is the half-sister of Sanjou Ichiri and Legba, who are born from different mothers. Aguri strives to become the one to inherit everything of her father, to prove she is the strongest of his children.

Appearance[]

Aguri is a beautiful young lady with dark skin, voluminous black hair and a visibly athletic physique. Veins are also visible from her muscles even remaining calm, results from her intense training. She is often wearing a tank top with long pants and a belt. Her eyes' irises have a special form, similar to her father's and her step-siblings.

Personality[]

She is a very independent and playfully confident individual, casually entering a hostile environment wearing handcuffs and taking down guys much larger than her. Aguri is mostly known for her cheerful and playful behavior to those she trusts, an example being when she was accompanied with Aruna and saw her as a friend. She also displayed some confidence toward her father by claiming she is his "only daughter", in which Isao became furious at his daughter's words, willingly trying to prove she is the only strongest of his children who will win the Inheritance War and her father's legacy.

However, behind her playful attitude hides an raging animosity towards does she really dislikes, most notably her stepsiblings and possibly their different mothers and doesn't hesitate her murderous behavior towards them. As seen in her younger years, Aguri seemed to display violent anger problems and would physically injure other children of her age, of not much older. Similar to Kraken, Aguri displays some degree of aversion towards men in general, seeing them as filthy and disgusting. According to Aruna, her raging tantrums are easily roused and potentially destroy herself. Mestre Cobrinha Douranda also noted this as well and saw her anger can blind her sight, though he managed to train her to have a sharp mind while raging against her foes in battles and stated "her anger is her roots", hinting the possible source of her power.

Biography[]

Past & Youth[]

In the past, Aguri was trained by Isao personally and taught her capoeira. Her mother was present in her early days, though it is unknown what happened to her as she either left Isao and Aguri or passed away. She was 15 years old when her father announced the Inheritance War.[1] She was known for mostly having problematic tantrums and would fight other kids of her age or above, beating them physically in rage.

Present Day[]

In the favelas of Brazil, Aguri helped ambushed a gang rival alongside her father by taking out some gang members by herself. When he asked her why she acted without his permission, Aguri replied that she was only helping to increase their wealth, adding that it would soon be hers. Her father replied that it would have to wait until she had won the inheritance ceremony, but Aguri confidently stated that she couldn't possibly lose and that she was his only daughter now; with Isao furiously glared at her for the comment, in which Aguri apologized.[2]

Aguri's physical condition is beyond the average athlete, either be strength, speed, endurance and agility; which is due to all those years of harsh training in Brazil's dangerous slums. In the past, shed has fought in several near-death situations, where she grown used to brutally beat her opponents and possibly killing them. Her physical condition is superior than a gymnast: she's capable to easily perform acrobatic leaps and jumping extraordinary high and capable of performing parkour on buildings and fast-moving vehicles without struggles.

Her most powerful ability is her evolutionary growth, capable to adapt and evolve against an opponent much stronger than her. After suffering from an overwhelming defeat from Símio Branco, she would take her revenge and completely returns the favor with an astonishing, one-sided victory. During her defeat, her incredible fast-rate recovery and accelerated growth gave her the upper hand.

Mental Abilities[]

Mostly when fighting, she can became enraged and extremely violent, as if she let her primal instincts taking the lead of her decisions and only aims at killing her opponents.

Fighting Style[]

Aguri has shown to be a powerful capoeirista, casually taking down several men single-handedly despite her hands being cuffed.[3] She was taught capoeira by her father, who is regarded as the living reincarnation of the legendary Besouro Mangangá.[4] She is also capable to precisely kick an opponent without needing to see them.

Family[]

  • Sanjou Isao: She has a playful attitude with her father, much to his annoyance at certain times. Aguri tries her best to make herself look as the family's "golden child".
  • Aguri's mother: There is no explaination why Aguri's mother left the family or if Isao ditched Aguri's mother for a new one. She had a similar appearance to Aguri, having an athletic body type and slightly taller than Isao.
  • Sanjou Ichiri: Aguri was very avid to meet her younger sister face-to-face, though mostly to defeat and eargerly kill Ichiri in order to win the Inheritance Battle. Sanjou does not share this sentiment and only wants the war to end.
  • Legba: It was yet known what are their relationship between the two until Aguri stated herself she wanted to kill both Ichiri and Legba without hesitations. Legba also seemingly approves on killing Ichiri and Aguri with no remorse, as he was trained for this day ever since born.

  • Mestre Cobrinha: She affectionally calls him "Gramps Cobrinha". Aguri is very fond of her grandfather.
